This appears to be a zometool set that was only sold in Japan. Although it almost seems like it could have been a fan kit, or unofficial. Those pages state it is a Chris Palmer design, which is believable. In the Between the Folds documentary, in the scene showing him at work there is a Zometool construction in the background of a few shots.
